O0 The Portsmouth Coal & Ice Co. being the Iowest bidder for coal and Beazley & Blah- ford for wood, it is recommended that awards for same ~e made to these~firms, respectively. A petition of the City'Treasurer and City Collector that the bill of J. S. Wright for painting and papering th~ir~ffices be allowed. We have discussed this matter with the City Treasurer and the City Collector and re- commend that the bill be paid. (With Finance Committee) A bill of C. 8. Sherwood to amount of $25.00, for care of the City.Hall clock for the yea~ ending June $0, 1914. We report that we concur with the Finance Committee in recommending that this bill be paid out of 'Nnapproved Bills" provided for in the Budget for 1914. Advisability of removing the fence around the court house yard. Progress as to same. A request of Mrs. Griffin to be allowed to use the unoccupied part lng for stores for t~e poor at Christmas. It is recommended that the request be granted. the Armistead ~ild- Attention called to condition of the roofs of the court house and Municipal Building. We report that we will recommend an appropriation in the Budget of 1915 for repairing these roofs. Referred by Board of Aldermen October BOth.
