Carr objected to the section concerning an appropriation <br />"Repairs to Grimes Battery Gun Room," stating ~hat the amount recommended for repairs was <br />enough, and he moved that the ma~ter be reeomm~tted with Public Property Committee. <br /> The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Narkh~m objected to the recommendation as to payment of bills due the Portsmouth, Berk- <br />!ey & Suffolk Water Company, stating that there should be before the body the opinion of the <br />City Attorney and a statement from the Auditor that the bills are correct as a precedent to ar- <br />rangement for payment. ~ <br /> ·hereupon, Mr. Bartow, of the Finance Committee, explained the situation. <br /> Mr. Davis asked Mr. Barlow if he, ~tv. Barlow, had not asked him to obtain the approval cf <br />the Water Company to same.
