Matters adopted by the Board of Aldermen March 16th and referred to the Common <br />Council for concurrence. <br /> <br /> To appoint a Committee of Five, two from the Board of Aldermen and ~hree from the Common <br />Council, to consider the advisability of submitting to the voters of the City for their signa- <br />tures two or more plans for Cit~ Government, as provided for by Acts of the General Assembly. <br /> Concurred in. <br /> <br /> T? appoint a Committee.of Five, two from the Board of Aldermen and three from the Common <br />CounciL, to consider the~advisability of the City purchasing the property of the Portsmouth, <br />Berkley & Suffolk Water Company at the expiration of its contract with the City. <br /> Concurred in. <br /> <br /> Second. Matters adopted by the Common Council April 1Sth and referred to the Board of Al- <br />dermen for concurrence. <br /> <br /> To appropriate $E5.00 to the City Mission Board to defray expenses for maintaining white <br />children given into the hands of the "white probation officer," who is Captain of the Salvation <br />Army. <br /> Concurred in. <br /> <br /> To instruct the proper Officers to collect <br />Market for the month of April, 1915. <br /> Concurred in. <br /> <br />from Wade H. <br /> <br />Codd rent of stalls in the City <br /> <br />MaY, <br /> <br />To authorize the City Treasurer to renew notes to amount <br />1915. <br /> Concurred in. <br /> <br />of $48,164.49, <br /> <br />falling due in <br /> <br /> · o appoint a special committee to meet with representatives of the Pj <br />looking mo an amicable adjustment of all'featu~es of the "water question." <br /> Mr. Markham mOved not to concur ~n~action of the Common Council, <br />matter to the JOint~Water & Sewerage Committee of the 0i$~ Counoil~ <br /> The motion was adopted. <br /> <br />B. & S. Water Company <br />but t6 refer said <br /> <br /> At this point, Mr. Browne moved ~o concur in action of the Common Council March 9th <br />with regard ~o giving a note to the Portsmouth, Berkley & Suffolk Water Company for <br />said amount having been paid to the City by said Company for taxes for the years l~O~-iglE. <br /> The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> To appoint a special committee to consider a suitable appropriation for enlarging and re- <br />pairing Grimes Battery Gun Room; and to take mute consideration also the cost of galvanized iron <br />instead of brick for such enlargement; and make report to the next Joint Session of the two <br />branches. <br /> Concurred in. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Street <br />S~e. <br /> Conc~r~ ed in. <br /> <br />Committee to fix a price for the <br /> <br />Oity steam roller and to sell the <br /> <br /> To refer to Finance Committee for obtaining necessary data to be furnished <br />by the City Attorney concerning proposed notes for said b~anks. <br /> Concurred in. <br /> <br />the City banks <br /> <br /> To authorize the City Attor~ey to take an appeal to the Court of Appeals in the case of <br />Ellis A.
