<br /> A petition of the School Board that Council divide the City into three school districts,
<br />as follows: District $1, All that part of ~he City lying and being withi~ the present boundaries
<br />of the First, Second and Third Wards; Distrzct SS, All thai part of the City lying and being
<br />within the present bou~.dariss of _the Fifth and Sixth Wards, District ~kS, All that part of the
<br />City lying and being wzt'hin the present boundaries of the Fourth and Seventh Wards.
<br /> And also that Council name three Trustees from each of such districts, one from each dis-
<br />trict to be chosen for a period of one year; one from each district for a period of two years;
<br />and one from each district for a period of three years, with the proviso that at the expiration
<br />of each term, then and thereafter, successors are to be chosen for te~ms of three years, and
<br />with the further proviso that all incumbents shall hold over until their successors are named
<br />and have qualified.
<br /> It is recommended that the request of the School Board be granted.
<br />
<br /> A petition of the School Board to have made available the sum of SE0,~O0. to purchase sites
<br />on which to erect suitable buildings for a high school and for a colored s~hool.
<br /> It is recommended that said $ZO,OO0. be made available.

<br /> Gun Room.. ~hereupon, Mr. Cart stated that his Commmttee had intended to recommend an aporopri-
<br /> ation of $1800. for same. . ' . - j
<br /> Finally, ~M~.~:~a~k~ham.moved to refer to F~nanee Committee an appropriation of ~1800. to
<br /> enlarge ~and repair said Gun Room. The motion was adopted.
<br /> The Board concurred with~he Common Council in recommitting the recommendation in regard
<br /> to dividing the City into three school districts, &c.
<br /> Ohm~tio~, the. Board declined to permit the Fort Nelson Chao., D. A. R., to place on the
<br /> old jail lot a "~emonal" to Commodore Richard Dale. '

<br /> Then the report of the Committee was adopted,~ as amended, the recommended appropriation
<br />/of $0,000. to purchase sites for school buildings and the extra amount of $1~.~8 needed for
<br /> workon public buildings being referred to Finance Committee.

<br /> (With Finance Committee) A cbmmunication from Agelasto & Miller, attorneys representing
<br />claim against the City amounting to $57~75, ih favor of the Chemo Co. of Buffalo, for goods
<br />furnished the City on a~count of the Fire-Department.
<br /> We concur with the report of the Finance Committee on this matter.
<br />

<br />
<br /> A communication from the Chief of the Fire Department recommending that J. E. Travers be
<br />re-imbursed to amount of $$~.00, for injuries received by him at the fire in Olympic Theatre
<br />Nay ZEnd, 191S. _
<br /> It -is recommended that Mr. Travers be re-imbursed to said amount.
