May i8, <br /> <br /> On motio~ of Er. Markham, the advisability of permitting property holders to pay their <br />annual taxes zn two periods, instead of one Deriod as at present~, was referred to Finance Com- <br />mittee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Markham presented a proposed ordinance with regard to "jitney busses," and same was <br />referred to Ordinance Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr.~Davis presented the following resolution, which was referred to Cemetery Committee: <br /> <br /> "Whereas, there appears to be an urgent necessity for the acquirement by the City of <br />land for cemetery purposes, and at a time w~en iq is necessary to consider the financial abil- <br />ity of the City to incur further debt, interest charges, &c~, and, <br /> "Whereas, the City is in possession of more than ample land for said purpose, said <br />land not being used or needed for other purposes, and absolutely unprofitable and non-productive <br />of revenue~Resoive~ ~ <br /> That the tract of land on which the Almshouse is located be used for ceme- <br /> tery purposes, improving fnom time to time su6h portions thereof as occasion may require." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Bartow, the advisability of an adding machine ~or the City Collector was <br /> referred to Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> A communz~atzon was read from the Sanita~! Inspector concerning necessity for screening <br />the City Narket and same was referred to Public .Property & Schools Committee. <br /> <br />On motioD, <br /> <br />adj ourned~ <br /> <br />June 15, 1915. <br /> <br /> There should Hav~ee~ a <br /> <br />of the same appearing within half an hou~ after the time <br />adjourned. <br /> <br /> Those present were: <br /> Messrs--L.
