<br /> Ne report that the Chief of Police appear'ed before the Committee and explained the
<br />situation. He said he thought a small automobile would be preferable to a motorcycle for the
<br />use desired and that with such automobile there would be no necessity for an increase of the
<br />police force.
<br /> It is recommended that the qumstion as to whether the police force should be supplied
<br />with a motorcycles or an automobile be referred for consideration to the Police Committee.

<br />ty street; and an appropriatmon to repair Glasgow street, if available funds are on hand belong-

<br /> It is recommended that an appropriation of $1,000. out of Sixth Ward Bond Account, be
<br />allowed for work on County street, said work to be dOne tmder the direction of the Street Com-
<br />mittee.
<br /> It is recommended that the matter of repairing Glasgow street be sent back to the
<br />Street Committee for estimates of cost of same.

<br /> It is recommendedI that the request be granted and.that the following resolution be
<br />adopted therefor:
<br /> Resolved, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to make notes
<br />in The Merchants & Farmers Bank, The Bank of Portsmouth, the Bank of~ Tidewater~ and The First
<br />National Bank of Portsmouth, to amount of Twenty Thousand D?llars ($ZO,O00.O0), to ~meet Current
<br />Expenses of the City for July, 1915; said amount to b~ =spared from revenues of the Oity for the

<br /> $S5.00 to re-imburse the Portsmouth Library Association for a granolithic walk leading to

<br /> Ne ~eport that, since this proposition has been rejected by the Board of Aldermen, no

<br />may be necessary, be allowed for the purpose named.

<br /> To instruct the proper authorities to place country carts coming to market along Crawford
<br />and .South streets and sur. p~lus of such oa~s on ~{iddle street only; and to remove from the streets
<br />partmes having the benefit of country caz~ rates for stands on.the streets without paying market

<br /> Ne find that under the Ordinances, it is the duty of the Clerk of Market to arrange
<br />such carts in the manner called for, and it is recommended that said Clerk be instructed by the
<br />Public P~eperty Committee to carry out the regulations regarding the same.
