Common Co'&ucil--Board of Aldermen. <br /> <br />Ge~tiemen:-- Your Btreet Committee re- <br /> <br />spectfully reports herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Street Commit- <br /> <br />tee September 14-Zl, 1915: <br /> <br />Referred by Common Connbil September 14th. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Seventh Ward Board to be allowed a special appropriation of $~Z5. of the <br />Permanent Improvement Fund, to be used as follows: $Z50~ for a pipe line in Prentis Park; $t50. <br />for a pipe line at Lincoln and Washington streets; $~00. for repairs to concrete corners on paved <br />streets; and $Z~5. for repairs to holes in paved streets. <br /> It is recommended that said appropriation be allowed. <br /> <br />cost <br /> <br />A petition of the Sixth Ward Board to have Fifth and. Sixth avenues ditched and graded at a <br />of $~5.00, out of SixthWard .B~.nd Account. <br /> It is recommended that sazd petition be granted, as asked for. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen September gist. <br /> <br /> A petition of Wm. H. Armistead t~ be re-imbursed to amount of $500. for damages to hie <br />property caused by drain pipe running through the block bounded by Scott, Effingham, Duke and <br />Chestnut streets, this pipe being stopped up; and aisc asking that said drain be opened. <br /> Progress. <br /> <br /> To consider for the Budget of <br />between Clifford and Wythe streets; <br />ington. Progress. <br /> <br />191~ paving with plastic pavement two blocks on the causeway <br />and also the paving of Lincoln street, from Sixth to Wash- <br /> <br /> Advisability of paving Washington street; to consider for the Budget of 1916 the paving of <br />Fifth street, between Fayette and Jeff.croon; to consider paving Queen street, between Crawford <br />and Water; paving Effingham street, between County. and Clifford; paving Oooke street; paving <br />North street,Progressbetweenon allChestnUtof theandsame.Hatt°n; and pavlng Chestnut street, from North to Glasgow. <br /> <br /> Condition of the drain at the ~Junction of Queen and Water streets. <br /> We report that the City Engineer has been instructed to send a man <br />to examine the condition. <br /> <br />to this location <br /> <br /> (With Finance Committee) Ourbing the south side of Wyth~ street~ between~ Third and Fourth; <br />and the west side of Third, between Harrison and Wythe. <br /> We report that an appropriation for this work will be recommended for the Budget of <br />1916. <br /> <br /> To look into the advisability of building a wharf for small boats at the north end of ~id- <br />dle street, and report on same for the Budget of 1916. <br /> It is recommended that the City Attorney advise the Council that if the City build a <br />wharf north of Middle street where old oyster houses used to.be, whether it wo~id have a legal <br />right for entrance to said wharf from the water. <br /> <br /> Attention called to condition of the south end of Middle street. <br /> It is recommended that the City attorney give an opinion as to wh~ther the City has a <br />legal right to ex,smd Middle street southward to the Playground. <br /> <br /> (Signed) $. Common Council--Board of Aldermen. <br /> Gentlemen:-- Your Pub- <br /> <br />lic Property ~cSohools Committee respectfully reports herein concerning the following matters <br />referred to the Joint Public Property & Schools Committee September 14-2lst~ 1915: <br /> <br /> Referred by two branches September l$-Slst. <br /> <br /> ~The Auditor authorized to pay bills for work on a room for the Plumbing Inspector in the <br />Armis~ead Building, when the bills for same are approved by the Public Property Committee. <br /> We report that this matter is being attended to. <br /> <br /> Authorized to advertise for bids for a heating plant and for water and sewerage pipe con- <br />nections at the City Jail; and empowered to make award for the work and to report result of its <br />action subsequently to Council. <br /> As authorized to do, we have advertised for bids for same and have received the fol- <br />lowing the=efcr: <br /> From: <br /> <br /> <br />
