<br />by the vote on the PoliCe Budget; thzt is to say, whether the body meant to adopt with amend-
<br />ment by Mr. Markham or no~. The body was of opinion that the matter was adopted with the a-
<br />mendment by Mr. Markhs_m.
<br /> Mr. Markham, after stating his ppSition with regard to the Police Budget, said that, while
<br />he agreed to the position taken by the other members, he thought the matter should be transacted
<br />in a more regular form, and for that puroose, he would move a suspension of the rules The motion was adopted.
<br /> He then moved the adoption of the Police Budget, except the two amendme~nts adopted by the
<br />Board, viz.~ the amendments for purchase of a motorcycle and for a traffic officer.
<br /> The motion was adopted and by the following vote:

<br /> Mr. Markham moved to purchase a motorcycle for $250. and to employ a traffic policeman at

<br />Ward, was~ referred to~the Finance Committee.

<br />avenue, between Glasgow and High streets, was referred to the Police Committee.

<br /> Mr. Browne gave notice that at a regular meeting or at any special meeting of the Board
<br />he will ask for a reconsideration of the Police Budget.

<br />dirt that may be taken from the streets to be paved. The motion was adopted.
