November.8, 1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, <br />November 8, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, Jsanes T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City <br />Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-435 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend'a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 1994, for <br />the purpose of a joint meeting with the Portsmouth Port and <br />Industrial Commission, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority, Municipal Finance Commission, Planning Commission, <br />and the School Board for a presentation by Ray Gindroz of UDA <br />Architects. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 94-436 - The following item was discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Economic Development Plan <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion meeting adjourned. <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />Powell Pittman, CMC/AAE <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
