The oaths of office of Kemp Pl,=mmer a~d R. A. Hutchins, Jr., recently elected members.of the Boa~vd of Harbor Commissioners, and David W. Ballentine, recently elected to frill the umex- pired term of Carey J. Hall, Keeper of the Cemeteries, were presented and were ordered to file. NEW BUSINESS. Er. Cart moved that s~u 8-inch main, instead of a ~-inch main, be laid on the corner of Third and Wythe streets, under the supervision of the City Engineer. The motion w-&s adopted. By the sams, to refer to Street Committ'e~ the filling up of Gauder Creek-with mud by the S~ A. L. Railway Co. The motion w~s adopted. By the same, that the Clerk w~ite to the Board of Supervisors of Norfolk County with re- gard to contemplated repairs to the Court House. The motion was adopted. On motion of M~. ~ilson, a complaint from owners ~ cemetery lots tl~t the Keeper of the Cemeteries refuses to permit them into the cemeterSes to clean their lots w~s referred to the Cemetery Committee. Er. Privett moved to refer to Public Property & Schools Committee with power to act, an appropriation of $35- to l~y a lead pipe on Washington street from the 01d Jail Lot. The motion was ~dopted. · By the smme, to refer to Public P~operty & Schools Committee to confer with Dr. Joseph Grace 'and ~W~ers of the Central Market~ as to what said Market can be bought for, to be Used as a Public Market. The motion was adopted. By the same, to refer to ~the Ordinance Committee the advisability of ~u ordinance govern- ing the sale of produce, &c., in the Earke$. The motion w~s adopted. By the same,' to refer to the 0rdina~ce Committee the s~ivlsability of an ordinance requir- ing all drivers of jitneys and automobiles for hire to be 18 years of ~ge mud over. The motion was adopted. On motion of Mr. Earkh~m, the advisability of an o~dinance fixing the representation ~mong the several City Ws~vds as redistricted, s~ud to fix the pay of same, was referred to the 0rdi- nance Committee. On motion of Er. ~P~rkham, the advisability of an ordinance to cover the cases of disabled or supermnnuated firemen and policemen w~s referred to the 0rdina~ce Committee .... (With Police Committee) A petition of the Board of Police Commissioners for au appropri- ation of $31.20 to purchase i2 pai~s o~ handcuffs for the Police Department .......... Bond and contract of F. J. EcGuire to do paving on certain streets. Street Committee-- A request of the Sixth Ward Bo~d that some. definite action be ts~en ~o abate the flooding of streets, Second avenue a~d Columbia street~ in the Sixth and Wards, b~ rain~ f~ll and wash water from the two ice plants nearby. Fire Committee-- A ce~unication from the Chief of ~he Fire Department ~llin~ attention to a fire which partly destroyed the feeci.m~c~fuel room of Park View Engine ~o. the rear of the main building. Light Committee-- be placed as follows: A request of the Sixth Ward Board for 3 addition~l 75-Watt lamps, to London & Sixth avenue; Godwin & Que~n; and Richmond avenue &-King street. On motion,
