A bill of J. Crawford Miller-& Co. to amount of $550~00, for two horses sold the Firs De-

<br />Third.

<br />gallons. An engine of this capacity is as la, ge as the requirements of the city will nee~ for
<br />years to come, and 50 g~llons more than that recommended by the National Board of Fire Under-
<br />writers, from whose report we a~e recommending additional fire apparatus, amid cheaper by $500.
<br />or more than that recommended bi the majority report.
<br /> "2nd.- After thorough investi~tion I am convinced that the LaFrance and Sea, ave Engine
<br />Co's. Combination Pumping Engines a~$ bothStandard, andthat neither are worth a pr~mium~ over
<br />the other. Consequently, all things being ~.qual~ the award~sho~ld be made to the lowest bidder,
<br />and I recommend.that a Seagrave Tripple Combination Pumping Engmne of ?50 gallons be pur0hased

<br />den's term 0f office, some six or more years ago, at 80 Cents Or 85 cents per foot, and believ-
<br />ing this to be far superior~or ou~ purpose than t~e hose recgm~ended in.the m~j?~t~ rep~rt~
<br />I f.~u~ther recommend that twenty-five hundred feet (2,500 feet) of "Bty S~ate, ~.~." nose ce
<br />purchased from the Boston Woven Hose and Rubber Co. &t Eighty Cents (80~) per lost.
