<br />the Fire Department, out of appropriation in the Budget for "Horses."
<br /> It is recommended that said appropriation be allowed, out of appropriation in
<br />Budget for "Horses."

<br /> We have examined said reports, found them correct, and recommend that they be filed.

<br /> A report of the Auditor of the following bills held up by him, because of lack of appropri-
<br />ation or because they exceeded 1/12 of appropriation allowed for same: Fire, $12.00; Water Com-
<br />mission,
<br /> It is recommended that ~u appropriation of $12. be allowed to pay Fire bills, out of
<br />appropriation in ~ne Budget for "Horses;" that a special appropriation~of $1690. be made for
<br />the Water Commissmon to oa~ry it to September l, 1916, and that Water Commissmon bills on hand
<br />amounting to $689.21, be paid out of said appropriation.

<br /> A statement of the Auditor that taxes should be refunded Jas. S. Rodgers to amount of
<br />$39.55, paid in error for the years !909-15, inclusive, Sixth Wa~d.
<br /> It is recommended that said ~mount be refunded Mr. Rodgers, out of Sixth Wsmd funds.

<br /> A bill of L. C. Smith Bros. Typewriter Agency, to amount of $~5.00, for exchange of a
<br />typewriter for the Clerk of the Court.
<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation of $45. be allowed to pay said bill.

<br /> A petition of the Captain of the Salvation Army for ~n appropriation for the probation
<br />officer of the Juvenile Court.

<br /> A request of the Treasur2r for an appropriation of $10,000. monthly to mee~ School Exp~nses.

<br /> An appropriation of $250.L1fO~ a Portable Tar and Asphalt Heater aud a No. 9 Fire Wagon,
<br />out of the Budget, freight on same to be paid by the City.
<br /> It is recommended that $250. with freight, be made available for this purpose, out
<br />of appropriation for same in the Budget.

<br />A bill of the League of Virginia Municipalities te ~mount of $3~.00, for the year 1916.
<br /> It.is recommended that said bill be paid, out of appropriation for same in the Budget.

<br />(With Police Committee) A petition of the Board of Police Commissmone. e for an appropria-
<br />of $31.20 to purchase 12 pairs of handcuffs for the Police Department.

<br />A contract and bond of F. J. EcGuire to do paving on certain street~.
<br /> We have examined sam~ contract aud bond and it is recommended thmt same be accepted.
<br />
<br /> It is f-~rther recommended that the contract of A. F. Flynn to curb s.nd gutter the
<br />foliowing streets be accepted: south side of Wythe street, between Third and Fourth; west ~ide
<br />of Third, between Harrison and ythe, and north smd~ of~ ~ythe, between Second and Fourth.
<br />
<br /> It is further recommended that $3,6?2.8? in the Paving Bond Account be made available
<br />for Street Paving purposes.
