Commoh Council--Board of Aldermen. <br /> Gentlemen:-- Your Finance Committee re- <br /> <br />spectfully reports herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Finance Com- <br />mittee Eay 9-t6 and Earch l~, 1916, and December 1~-21, 1915: <br /> <br /> Referred by Common Co-~ucil Esy 9th. <br /> <br /> An ~opropriation of $200. out of "Repairs to Sweeper" ~ud $!25. out of "Repairs to <br />in the Budget of 1916, to pay for a new Sweeper for the Street Department. <br /> It is recommended that $325. be allowed for sai~ Sweeper, out of appropriation in the <br />Budget, as requested by the Committee. <br /> <br />Reports of Officers for the month of April, 1916. <br /> We have ex~mined said reports and it is recommended that they be filed, <br /> <br /> A report of t~e Audito~ of ~he following bills held up by him, because of lack of appropri- <br />ation or because tney.exceemed. 1/i2 of appropriation for same: General Administrstion, $8.25; <br />Cemetery, $14.00~ Polmce, $16.~0; Almshouse, $72.68; Public Property, $109.50~ <br /> ~t is recommended that $8.25 be allowed for "General Administration;" that $1~;00 for <br />Cemeter~ be not allowed; a special ~opropriation of $16.~0 for Police; $ special appropriation <br />of $72.o8 for Almshouse; and $67.50 for Public Property, out of its appropriation, and the ba~l- <br />anoe of $42. be referred to s~id Committee for e~lanation. <br /> <br /> An estimate of the Sealer of We~ght~ & Eeasures of supplies needed by him, to a~mount of <br />Ss o5 <br /> It is recommended that a special appropr,at~on of $~,05 be allowed for such purpose. <br /> <br />City; <br /> <br />A report of the Suditor of ca~celled coupons during 1915 to amounts~6f $6~,208,90 for the <br /> $~,106,25 for S~xth ~srd; and $5,~56.25 for Seventh Ward, <br /> Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Seventh Ward Board for sm appropriation of $~5. to be used ss salary of <br />Sanitary inspector for the We~rd~ <br /> it is recommended that this petition be referred to the Board of Health, <br /> <br />of <br /> <br /> A communication from the Auditor of Public Accounts in regard to salaries of the Judges <br />the Circuit a~d Hustings Courts for the year beginning February l, 191?. <br /> It is recommended that the Auditor pay said salaries when due, <br /> <br /> (With Water & Sewerage Committee) An appropriation of $300. to extend ~nd renew the sewer- <br />age outlet st Hospital Park. <br /> It is recommended that said appropriation be allowed, out of appropriation to Sewer- <br />age Department in the Budget. <br /> <br />Matter of payment for property to extend H~tton street, from London to High. <br /> We report that this matter is out of the hands of the Committee. <br /> <br /> (With Public Property & Schools Committee) An appropriation of $225. to m~ke needed im- <br />provements to the Hook & Ladder quarters. <br /> It is recommended that a special ~opropristion of $225. be allowed for the repairs, <br />provided repairs to the roof are m~le before the money is paid. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen May 16th. <br /> <br />(Nith Fi~e Committee) Advisability of having one more paid ms~u in each engine house. <br /> Progress. <br /> <br /> (With Public Property & Schools Committee) An appropriation of $?9.60 for pipe connection <br />of the Jmil Lot with water main on Washing~0on street. <br /> It is recommended that s special appropriation of--$79.60 be allowed for this work. <br /> <br /> ~u appropriation of $200. for the purpose of pmving Wythe street, emst of Cou~t, <br />lng blocks taken from the Union Bridge Causeway. <br /> It is recommended that this matter be referred to the Street Committee. <br /> <br />with pay- <br /> <br /> An appropriation of $1600. for the Water Commission. <br /> ~t is recommended tD~t $ special. ~opropriation of $1600. be allowed for same. <br /> <br /> Printing of the Mayor's Annual Eessage for the Year 1915. <br /> We report that we have received one bid only,from W. A. Flake, to print the "Eessage.. <br />He bids $1~5. for 100 copies and $160. for 200 copies of same. <br /> It is recommended that 200 copies be printed st s cost of $160.00. <br /> <br /> <br />
