Moore, Vice-Chairman. <br /> <br /> The report having been read, Mr. Markham moved to concur with the common Council in a- <br />mending the same by adding, to pave one block on Washington street, between North street and <br />Hampton Place, at a cost of $2,350.00; and to pave on? block on Fifth street, between Jefferson <br />and Fayette, at m cost of $2,200.00; the money for th~s work to be taken from the general funds <br />of the City and to be returned to the general fund mt such time as there shmll be any money <br />vmilable for street improvements. <br /> The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> Ayes--Markham, Langhorne, Hudgins, <br /> Ba~!ow, Adams, Privett, Wilson, <br /> Nays--Davis, 1. <br /> (Mr. Cart being excused from voting). <br /> <br /> Then the report of the Committee w~s adopted, ss amended, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes-~arkham, Langhorne, Hudgins, Barlow, Adams, Privett, Wilson, <br /> (Nr. Common Council--B0a~d of Aldermen. <br /> Gentlemen:-- Your Public <br /> <br />Property & Schools Committee respectfully reports herein concerning the following matter referred <br />to the Joint Public Property & Schools Committee July l~th, 1916: <br /> <br />Referred by Boa~rd of Aldermen July 18th. <br /> <br />(With Finance Committee) Matter of repairs to the City Jail roof. <br /> ~Progress ms to same. <br /> <br /> It is recommended that the Public Property & Schools Committee be permitted to use $?5. <br />left of appropriation to "Cottrt House" to straighten iron fence, put in one new stone post and <br />reset stone caps, around the Court House ya~rd, <br /> <br /> It is further recommended that an appropriation of $35©. or as much of same as neces- <br />sary, be allowed for new water line and removing part of plumbing amd repairing all other plumb- <br />ing in the Jail building;, that the Plumbing Inspector be instructed to assist the Public Proper- <br />ty & Schools Committee in looking after the work; a~d that the Auditor be instructed to pay bill <br />for smid work upon approval of Committee, with bids attached. <br /> <br /> (Signed) Lorenzo Cart, Actg.
