<br /> All of the above were concurred in, except section to refer to Public Property &
<br />Schools Committee with power to act, condition of floors of ~he Chambers engine room, which
<br />was amended so as to refer to the Public Property & Schools 'Committee to a~ertain oondmtion
<br />not only of the floor of said engine room but the whole building.

<br /> The Board of Aldermen concurred also in mi1 reoommendmtions of Committees adopted
<br />by the Common Council, except recommendmtlon of the Finance Committee to allow a special ap-
<br />propriation of $21~.97 to pay Water Comm~ission bills held up by the Auditor in February for
<br />lacks, of appropriation, which recommendation was not adopted by the Board; recommendation of
<br />the Street Committee that Cooke street be opened, from Columbia to South, which recommendation
<br />wms ~ecommitted by the Board; and recommendmtions of the Fire Committee to purchase from the
<br />American LmFra~oe Fire Engine Co. & T2i~ple Combinmtion Pumping Engine, for $9,000.O0,a~d 2500
<br />feet of fire hose from the Fabric Fire ~ose Co. @ $1.00 per foot, s~id recommendations being
<br />recommitted by the Board.

<br /> The Common Council EarO~_ l~th referred the matter of a Testing Machine to the Light
<br />Committee for some description of what it is proposed to purchase and the mauner of using the
<br />machine, upon recommendation of the Finance Committee; but the Board referred the appropriation
<br />of $350. to purchase Said machine to the Finance Committee with instructions to make the appro-
<br />priation available.

<br /> The Board of Aldermen March'21st adopted the recommendation of the Street Committee
<br />With regard to opening P~tton street, from London to High.

<br /> To instruct the Auditor to pay bills of the Board of Ha~bor Commissioners when they fall

<br /> A speoi~t mppropriation to pay bills of members of the Board of Review of assessments and
