<br /> The minutes of the regular meeting. October 17th, Special meetings October 19th and 20th,

<br /> At this point, on motion, the rules were suspended to hear from members of the Sixth and
<br />Seventh Ward Boards with regard to the matter for which they h~d been asked to. come before the
<br />meeting, namely, the advisability of discontinuing the said Boards-
<br /> The members from the Sixth Ward were not p~esent and the Seventh Ward members expressed
<br />themselves as having no choice in the matter.
<br /> Whereupon, Mr. Morgan moved that further action in regard to the Boards be deferred un-
<br />til a General Manager shall have been appointed. The motion was adopted.

<br /> The ~eport having been read, the Chairm~ of the Depmrtment stated that, although the
<br />Council had accepted the offer of~J. C. Mayer & Co. to refund $200,000. of City notes, he would
<br />move that it hold up further action in the m~tter until the City Attorney shall have presented
<br />a suitable ordinance to cover sa&d loan, and thmt said ordinance be t~ken up at the next meet-
<br />ing of the Council; and he so moved. The motion w~s adopted.
