Parrish, 6. <br /> <br />The zero, ling of the minutes of the p~evious~meeting~ wms deferred. <br /> <br />Law-- <br /> <br />REPORTS OFDEPARTMENTS <br /> <br /> Referred DecemberlSth. <br /> <br /> ~To investigate and report ma.to a complaint that the Police Justice is irregular <br />opening his office for business. <br /> We submit the following letter from Police Justice T~omas ms our report: <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />"Portsmouth, Vm., December 22nd, 1916. <br /> <br />"Hon, John A. Eorris, <br /> <br /> "ChairmanLawDepartment, <br /> "City. <br /> "Ey Dear Mr. <br /> "Referring to t~e matter of the hours for the ope~ning of Court in <br />the Civil and Police <br />A. ~. is the most suitable hour for the opening of the Police Court, and l0 A. E. the most suit- <br />able hour fo~ the opening of the Civil Court. In the event that the Police cases run beyond l0 <br />o'clock, the ~ivil cases are, of course, necessarily postponed until the police cmses are con- <br />cluded. <br /> ~On and ~ter the first of the year these hours will be st=icily adhered to except in cases <br />absolutely beyond my control. <br /> "Very respectfully, <br /> "J.
