<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and
<br />approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 11 proposes to expand the conservation and
<br />redevelopment area to include in the Plan that area within the East Park View
<br />Conservation Project and to designate additional properties as "To Be Acquired"; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the
<br />provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended,
<br />including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, religion, familial
<br />status, handicap, sex or national origin; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council, it is in the interest of the City and its
<br />inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br />That regarding Amendment No. 11 to the Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Project, it is hereby found:
<br />
<br /> (a) That the objectives of the Park View Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of
<br />said Amendment to the Plan.
<br />
<br /> (b) That Amendment No. 11 meets the requirements of a plan for a
<br />conservation and redevelopment project pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of
<br />Virginia, 1950, as amended.
<br />
<br /> 2. That Amendment No. 11 to the Park View Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Plan for the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Project,
<br />having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and adopted and the
<br />City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this
<br />meeting."
