April 10, 2001 - ~01 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, April 10, 2001, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />*Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J: Thomas Benn Ill, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck, Deputy City Attorney George M. Willson. <br /> <br />01 - 110 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April <br />10, 2001 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />01 - 111 - The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Proposed City Budget and CIP Briefing <br /> <br />01 - 112 - Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br />Discussion concerning a prospective business or industry where no previous <br />announcement has been made of the business' or industry's interest in locating in the <br />community, as permitted under Subsection A.5; <br /> <br /> Discussion of the disposition of publicly held real property in the southern part <br />of the city where discussion in open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating <br />strategy of the city, as permitted under Subsection A.3; and <br /> <br /> A personnel matter involving a City Council appointee, as permitted under <br />Subsection A.1 <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1.
