He stmt~ further t~t it is his intention to have the street <br />in f~ont of the school roll~ mud a preparation of oil placed on it, ~nd in this ~er put the <br />street in m very ~od condition fo~ several years, until fu~s c~ be fo~d to l~y a pe~m~ent <br />p~v~en~. <br /> <br /> Under "Sewerage," the salary of the Chief Engineer of the Sewer Pump Station was increased <br />to $i, 200. per year. <br /> The~re¢ommended · o <br /> mncr~ases in salaries of the Firemen and Engineers at the Sewer Pump <br />Station were referred back t~ the Department of Finance. <br /> The recommended increase in the salary of the Plumbing I~spector to $1,500. per year wms <br />referred back to the Finance Depmrtment. <br /> <br /> Mr. 2&organ gave notice that he objected.to the appropriations given~is Department and <br />would ask for m reconsideration at a subsequent meeting. <br /> <br /> LAW-- <br /> <br />Police Justice. <br /> <br />Morris <br /> <br />gave notice <br /> <br />that he would ask <br /> <br />for a reconsDderatlon of the salary of the <br /> <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY-- <br /> Under "Fire," the recommended increase of <br />Bepartment~was referred back to the Finance Department. <br /> <br />S~l~y of the Chief of the-Fire <br /> <br /> The salaries of 3 Engineers were increased $5-~3 1/3per month each~ salaries of 3 Firemen <br />were increased $5. per month each; the salaries of 6 Men were increased $5. per month each; the <br />s~laries of ~ D2ivers was increased $5. per month each; and ~ additional men were allowed for <br />the Deloa~vtment ~t a salary of $60. per month each. <br /> Et.this point, Mr. DashietI stmted that he objected to taking the feed of horses omt of <br />the hands of~tHe dziversof the Fire Department, ~s the dmivers received some eomp~n~tion from <br />t~e feed; and that theincrease of salary for them would not amount-to as much a~ for other <br />paid mss. He then moved that the question of feed for horses be referred to the City Man, ger. <br /> The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> An appropriation of $399-75 was allowed for a Touring Cam for the Chief of t~he Department, <br />instead of the $359.75 recommended for the "Ford~? <br /> Under "Police,m the salary of the Chief of Police was increased to $1,500. per ye~r. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC WELFARE-- Under "Board of Health," the recommended increase of salary for the <br />Sanitary Inspector to $1,320. per yemr'was referred bmck to the Finance Dep~rtment. <br /> <br /> Under "Cemeteries," an appropriation of $1920. w~s allowed for "L~oor." <br /> <br />Under RCity:Home," the salary of the Keeper of the Home was increased to $720. per year. <br /> <br />SINTH WARD-- <br /> Adopted as presented. <br /> <br /> S~EVENTH-WARE.-- <br /> Adopted as presented. <br /> <br /> Finally, Mr. Herbert moved that theBu~get be adopted, as amended; and the motion w~s <br />~dopted by the following vote: <br /> Ayes--Dashiell, Hanvey, HerbeX, Morris, Morgan, 5. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS. <br /> <br /> <br />
