Jos. Weaver; I would further recommend that ~he w~itten
opinion of the City Attorney be obtained d~fining the liability of the two ice plants end a
statement of the proportion of the cost of the improvement which could justly be levied upon
them; since the needed improvement is due largely to the conditions crested by said companies,
in my opinion ~ much cheaper ~ud simpler improvement would care for the existing conditions were
tAe City's needs only to be considered.

"Petition of Seventh Wsrd Board re~rd~£n.g .S. ewerinE Plsns:

"With the force at his disposal mhd on account of
which he has on hand, it will,be impossible for the City
make the sur. veys, studies, estimates a~d plans required,

the large amount of work and detsil
Engineer to give the time required to
at this time.

"Petition of Housewives League for Sppointment of Meat Inspector:

"Would report that I consider this a very important m~tter, and that I am taking steps
towards the creat$on of this office. My understsnding is that no protest was
mede at the time,so that the owners recognized the defining of the course by,heir negative ac-
tion. In view of the above feets, I fsil to see why the said owners Should now expect the City
$o divert the flow as petitioned.

"Matter of Rocmao Pavement on Effin~ham St.:

~Mr. McGuire the contractor for this work has called me on the phone and advised me that
unless his claim is given immediate attention he will institute suit for recovery of his clslm.
I h~ve written to Nechiin Bros., asking them to send a representative to hsve s conference with
me.
"Communicstion from Dr. J.
