Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, *James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 94-476 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 1994, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 94-477 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Fire and Police Retirement Request 2. Tyre Neck Road and West Norfolk Road 3. I.D.A. Revenue Bonds - YMCA 4. Comprehensive Plan Amendment 5. ISTEA Grant Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use of real property for public purpose or the disposition of publicly held real property in the southern, PortCentre, and downtown portions of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); (3) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff members pertaining to legal matters requiring advice by counsel involving Sections 2-75 and 23-46 of the City Code, as permitted under Subsection (A) (7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfUlly exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
