Mr. Herbert called attention to the condition of Pearl street, between County and Columbia, and s~me was referred to the Department of Public Service and the City Manager for consideration. ~Er. Dashiell moved to refer to the Public Service Department and City ~anager ~o look into the advisability of working jail prisoners on the streets. The motion was adopted. ~h~ City Nan~ger stated that Harry C. H~ll has ~ppli~d_for the position of License Inspect- o~ £or the City, Mithout~any compensation, provided he be given hal~ of all fine~, whereby he would cause the Conviction of such person or persons who fail to obtain their license at the prope~ time.
