<br /> Any person, firm or corporation engaged in selling from wagons or carts kerosene, g~oline,
<br />or other illuminating oils by wholesale, or both wholesale and retail $75. on each wagon or

<br /> Any person or corporation, not paying to the City a merchant's !ioense tax, who shall
<br />gage in the sale of kerosene, gasoline or other illuminating oils from w~gons or carts, by re-

<br /> Each person selling bread, cakes, or pies from baskets, $10.00; or $2,50 per quarter, if
<br />paid quarterly.

<br /> Each person, firm or corporation who shall engage in the business of selling drinking water
<br />delivered in bottles or jugs, and not a merchant paying a merchant's license tax, $10.00.

<br /> Each place of business selling soda from fountain or "goose necks~" $5. addition~l to any
<br />other tax imposed by this ordinance.
<br />
<br />E~ch person, firm or corporation selling fruits, nuts or confectioneries from the sidewalks,
<br />
<br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, except agents for manufacturers, to use any ~gons or
<br />other vehicles for the purpose of peddling, within the limits of the City of Portsmouth, without
<br />having first registered with the Chief of Police his name and plmce of residence, and the nature
<br />and date and tenure of his license to do business within the said City. And there shall be at
<br />~ll ~imes provided and kept at police headquarters by the Chief of Police a permanent record, of
<br />such registration, showing the name, date aud serial number o£ said license; a~d the said re-
<br />cord shall be open to public inspection.
<br />
<br /> No person shall be permitted to register as aforesaid, or to peddle, while using a
<br />vehicle or other means in connection with such peddling, until he first shall have procured
<br />license for such privilege, for which said privilege he shall pay a specific tax of $300. for
<br />each wagon~ vehicle o~ .s~oh o~her me~ns or,peddling.
