Such stock shall not be sold by any auctioneer or common crier <br />except upon payment of the above m~tloned sum per d~y. <br /> <br /> Each country cart bringing produce to the City ~or sale and occupying market space, 10 <br />cents per <br /> <br /> Each vehicle bringing fish to the City for sale or delivery, i0 cents per day as a market <br /> <br /> Each person, firm or corporation engaged in the~business of buying and selling oysters, <br />clams, or crabs by ret~il~ ~5.00,Drovided that person, firm or corporation is not otherwise tax- <br />ed unde~ thi~ ordinance. <br /> <br /> Each person selling wood, coal dr other fuel~ or ice from wagons, $IO~ on each wagon in <br />addition to the regular tax on wagons. <br /> <br /> Each person selling ice, coal, wood or melons by retail from ice, wood or~coml boxes, <br /> <br /> Each. person, f~rm or co~poratmon epgaged in the manu~cture-of pop, ginger ale, <br />la, or other aeratea ~ter, $25. in m~idmtion to the regular tax on wagons, <br /> <br /> Each Don-resident person~ firm or corporation who shall sell pop, ginger ale, sarsaparilla, <br />or other merated water from w~gons, $25~ in addition to the regular tax on wa~ons. <br /> <br /> Each person, firm or corporation who shall engage in the business of selling drinking water <br />delivered in bottles or jugs, and not a merchant paying a merchant's license tax, $10.00. <br /> <br /> Each place of business selling soda from fountain or "goose necks~" $5. addition~l to any <br />other tax imposed by this ordinance. <br /> <br />E~ch person, firm or corporation selling fruits, nuts or confectioneries from the sidewalks, <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, except agents for manufacturers, to use any ~gons or <br />other vehicles for the purpose of peddling, within the limits of the City of Portsmouth, without <br />having first registered with the Chief of Police his name and plmce of residence, and the nature <br />and date and tenure of his license to do business within the said City. And there shall be at <br />~ll ~imes provided and kept at police headquarters by the Chief of Police a permanent record, of <br />such registration, showing the name, date aud serial number o£ said license; a~d the said re- <br />cord shall be open to public inspection. <br /> <br /> No person shall be permitted to register as aforesaid, or to peddle, while using a <br />vehicle or other means in connection with such peddling, until he first shall have procured <br />license for such privilege, for which said privilege he shall pay a specific tax of $300. for <br />each wagon~ vehicle o~ .s~oh o~her me~ns or,peddling. <br /> <br /> Each person occupying the public streets ~0r the sale of goods, not otherwise taxed, $5. <br />per week or part thereof~ <br /> <br /> Each person who shall barter or sell the right to <br />articles ~tente~ under the laws of the United States, <br />United States, $25°00. <br /> <br />m~nufacture or use any machinery or other <br />unless the patentee be a citizen of the <br /> <br /> Each land mgent, $50.00~ and each agent for renting houses or collecting rents of houses, <br />$15.00.
