Mor~, The minutes of the regular meeting April 10th were read and were approved, REPORTS OF DEPART~E~TS The Vice-Chairman submitted the following verbalrepor~.~- Referred April 10th, Recommendation of the City ~an~ger that ~n ordinance be drafted requiring that all ice wagons be equipped with scales, It is recommended that the following ordinance be adopted to cover same: An Ordinance Requiring Retail Ice DealerS, to Eeep Standard Scales ~nd to Weigh Ice Sold by Them, It is recommended further that the following ordinance be adopte~ AN ORDINANCE TO A~END AND RE-ORDAIN SECTION 2 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE ALL P~RSONE TO OBTAIN FROE THE CITY ENGINEER A PEP~IT TO OPEN OR DIG UP THE STREETS OF THE CITY, TO REQUIRE APPLICATIONS TO BE MADE TO THE CITY ENGINEER FOR THE PRiVILEGE; TO FIX A SCHEDULE OF CHARGES FOR THE PRIVILEGE; ~D TO REQUIRE OF EACH APPLICANT A BOND TO SAVE F~B2~LESS TF~ CITY FROE IN- JURIES RESULTING ~ROE THE NEGLIGenCE OF THE ~PLICANT." Herbert, Vioe-Chairman~ On motion, under the rules, the ordinance with regard to requiring retail ice dealers to keep st~naa~d scales and to weigh ice sold by them was ordered to lie on the t~ble. On motion, the rules were suspended, and the ~eooa~endedamendment to Section 2 of an ordinance entitled, "An 0=dinance to Require mll Persons ~o Obtain from the City Engineer a Per- mit to Open or Dig Up ~he ~treete of the City, &o,- was adopted, and by the following vote~ Ayes--Bunting, Claud, Daehie!i, Hanvey~ Herbert, Eo~gan~ 6, ~blio Service-- No report, Public Property-- Referred April 10th. ~ m (With City Eanage~) To confer wi~h ~ committee ~ro the Board of Supervisors of Norfolk County in the matter of authorizing The Ferries Co. to make a fixed mhd ad~qu~te c~a~g~ for ad- ditional service rendered by said Compmny in transporting vehicles weighing more than b,O00 lbs.
