A. ~orris, <br /> <br /> The minutes of the special meeting March 9th, regular meeting March 13th, special meeting <br />l~aroh 20th, s~nd regular meeting March 2yth.were re~d and were approved. <br /> <br />P~iPORTS OF DEP~TNENTS <br /> Referred Earch 2yth. <br /> <br /> To amend the ordinance with regard to electric installation so as to prohibit the Electric <br />Light Co. from furnishing current in case sm installation is condemned by the Electrical In- <br />spector. <br /> It is recommended that the following ordinance be ~dopted to cover the same: <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to Require the Electrical Inspector to ~ake Inspection of Electrical Appli~~ <br />antes Where Electricity-is Used, to Condemn the Same if Unfit for Use, and to Notify the Elec- <br />tric Light Company to Discontinue the Current When so Conde~nedo <br /> <br /> To draft an ordinance with regard to one of the Justices of the Peace acting ms Clerk to <br />the Civil & Police Justice ~nd Clerk to the Chief of Police. <br /> It is recommended that the following ordinance be ~dopt~d therefor: <br /> <br /> An Ordinance Providing ~or the Appointment of a Clerk to the Civil ~nd Police Justice ~nd <br />to the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> Advisability of mn ordinance requiring persons installing electrical work to take out a <br />license and fils a bond. Bdnting, Chairman. <br /> <br />Court <br /> <br />to examine the City <br /> <br />On'motiOn, the report of the Department was adopted. <br /> <br />Public S~fety-- <br /> <br />Referred Na~ch 27th. <br /> <br /> (~th City Manager) A petition of Niss Ethel Only and sundry others to be re-imbursed for <br />losses sustained by a fire which occurred Earth y, 191y, at the southwest corner of Dinwiddie <br />~nd King streets. <br /> Your Department desires to say that they have examined this petition carefully, be- <br />lieve that the losses have been sustained by said petitioners, as we hea~tly sympathize with <br />them for such losses, aud we believe each individual member of the Council feels with us, but, <br />as we can find no lmw to authorize ~nd no precedent o~ the former councils to make such compen- <br />sation, we regretfully recommend that the petition be not granted. <br /> <br />(Signed) <br /> <br />Oscie Dashiell, Chairman. <br /> <br />On motion, <br /> <br /> (Signed) John A.
