<br /> The report having been ~es~i, .~. Dashiell asked why the appropriation of $500. was
<br /> recommended for f'~es for the collection of Back Taxes, as the Counc~t~ ' h~i made ~ appropriation
<br /> of $800. some time since for this purpose.
<br /> The Cn=irman of the Department replied that when said appropriation of $600. w~s
<br />made, he thought it ~ould be sufficient, but it h~d turned out differently from his expects-
<br />ti-on.
<br /> Then, on motion, the report of the Department was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br /> The City E~uager reported that the Virginia Rmilway & Power Company had interviewed him,
<br />asking that it be ~llowed to put galvlnized iron shields on creosoted poles, instead of paint-
<br />ing them.
<br /> The m~ter w~s discussed ~nd on motion~ the ~ana~r ~s instructed to notify the
<br />Virginia Railw~,y & Power Company to follow the ordin~nce recently adopted with reg~ard to said
<br />poles, wlthou~ delay.
