We report that when said apparatus is delivered and accepted, money is available (With Public Service Department) and including the crossing at London s~reet, at a cost of about $800.00. It is recommended that an amount not to exceed $800.00 be ~opropriated for Advisability of repaving Water street, from Queen to said work. Reports of Officers for the month of June, 1917. We report that said reports have been examined and found correct. Reply from the Board of Water Commissioners that there sro no outstanding obligations against the City by said Board other than those in the hands of the City. It is recommended that a special appropriation of $311.40 be-made to cover bills against the City by the Board of Water Commissioners, A communication from the School Board concerning bills for the. High School Building for the month of June, 1917. We report that money has been provided for the payment of above bills, and that in the future th? School Board be required ~o make a statement of amount needed at least ten d~ys before t~me for payment of bills. A petition of A. Emmerson to be refunded $61~00, paid in error for ~axes for the year 1915. It is recommended that said amount be refunded, and ~ special appropriation made to cover sade,as no money'is on hand for refund of taxes. A petition of the Commissioner of the Revenue to be allowed an extension of time to Sep- tember let to complete the Personal Property Book. It is recommended that the petition be granted. (With Public S~fety Department) Matter of a bill of Samuel Eastman Co. for $190.00; and purchase from American La France Fire Engine Co. of steamer for SSO0.O0. Progress as to same. Referred June 22nd An application of Lee D. Ashworth to be refunded $1.dO, paid in error for soil tax on High street, year 1916, Sixth ~ardo It is recommended that said petition be granted, payment to be made out of Sixth Ward funds. A petition of W. C. & A. C. for the year 1~16. It ie recommended that Warren to be refunded $1.80, p~id in error for soil tax said petitio~ be granted, out of Sixth Ward funds. Advisability of appropriating ~800. for the improvement of south Dinwiddie street, and to report on same at the next meeting of the 0ouncil. ~t is recommended that an appropriation of $2800. be made for said improvement.
