The City's match will be $24,421. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $244,208 in grant funds for the Fiscal Year <br />2003 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Program. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· The United States Department of Justice has approved a grant under the Bureau of <br />Justice in the amount of $219,787 for the Police Department's Local Law Enforcement <br />Block Grant Program. The City must provide a cash match of $24,421 for a total award <br />of $244,208. <br /> <br />· These funds will be used to provide additional funding for public safety in support of <br />Neighborhood Quality. Funds will be used for technology and equipment, training, and <br />crime prevention initiatives. <br /> <br /> <br />
