<br />95-20 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoptio~ of a
<br />a motion to transfer $15,790 from the Grants Contingency
<br />Account for the City's Tree Planting Program.
<br />
<br /> "The City of Portsmouth has been awarded $10,790 for its
<br />1995 Tree Planting Program proposal through the Small Business
<br />Administration's Natural Resources Development Grant Program.
<br />This project must be completed by May 151 1995.
<br />
<br /> The non-federal share of this proposed project is $5;000.
<br />These funds will come from funds donated by the Portsmouth Area
<br />Council of Garden Clubs, Commemorative Tree Program. Also,
<br />additional inkind services in the amount of $3,828 will be
<br />included to provide the second and third year maintenance to
<br />these 147 trees. This grant will provide street tree plantings
<br />for the Port Norfolk Historic District, Portsmouth Boulevard
<br />medians, the Cradock Historic District and other street tree
<br />locations in the City.

<br /> I, therefore, recommend your approvalof a motion to
<br />transfer $15,790 from the Grants Contingency Account."
