Recomending the use of the Jailer's residence for a detention home~ and that the $600. appropriated for rent -for a detention home be made available flor furnishing and operating a detention house in what is now the Jailer's quarters. On motion, the matter w~s refer~ed~ to the Department of Public Welfare. Sixth. I!~ ~r:~ORE, RESPECTFULLY RECO~2~ND, That the appropriate departments be instructed to investi~ with the City Manager and report back to the Co~ucil: =FIRST: The advisability of going into the establishing of a civic municipal center at this time. ~SF~OND: A financial progrem~showin~ the anticipated receipts from s ale of present proper- ty oWned by city and other sources, cost of a-new city block for a sight, and construction of buildings appropriate to accommodate all of t~ departments and institutions connected with the city. ~ ~ : EStimated cost at normal prices of labor and material, together with preliminary pla~S~owing arra~.gement of buildings and improvements on the city block, ~lso a detail des- scription~. .... On m°tion~ the several recommendations in the resolution were referred to the Public Pro- perty Depa~tment.
