<br />with regard to cD~e in the street lamps in the City, which~d been referred to said Department
<br />October 10th:
<br /> ~That upon mutual agreement between the Va. Ry. & Power Co. and the City of Ports-
<br />mouth, the said Company be given authority to install a modern type C, ~00 ~Yatt, ~00~candle
<br />power ~itrogen l~mp, in place of the 228 Ar~ lamps now inuse in the City of Portsmouth, at a
<br />reduction in cost of $10.00 per lamp per a~u~m, making eac~ lamp cost the City $~8.00 instead
<br /> $55.oo.
<br /> ~Be It Fm~ther Resolved, That the Compar~ can be required to renew the bulbs as often as
<br />may be necessary to~ma~ntaLu the ca,utile power, and t~t~ t.h? said Compa~ is to furnis~ a !~st of
<br />the d~tes of substitutmon, and location of each lamp substituted, and t~he proper credit ar~i~
<br />cD~rges made from the date of substitution.

<br /> On motion, the recommendation was adopted ~ the City Attorney was ins bructed to prepare
<br />a contract between the Ya. Ry. & Power Co. and the City Covering t~zis matter and the proper
