Mr. Herbert presented the following resolution, which was adopted: "N~-JhEAS, Section 216 of the City Code re~ires that the K~epe~ s~ll Open the Cemeteries at 7 a. m. from ~y 1st to September 30th and 8 a. m. 'f~om October 1st to APril 30th, and close the same at sT down, and, "WHEREAS, We believe-it to be a hardship at-this time to require such long hours f~om the Keeper and his Assistants, "BE IT RESOLV~D, That the Department of Law bring, in an~e requiring %he C~meterlem to be' ~pened at 8 a. m. and closed at 6:50 P. M. from Aprit t~%~t0 0ctob~r 1st' and a% sunset from October tst to APril lst; and that the said ordinance go into effect as of June l, 19!9. Mr; Herbert moved that-the Department of Law bring in an amendment to the "one man car" 0rdirm~ce, so as to strike out the words "street car crossing" as they appear in the Ordinance and to' strike out the words*"full agem and insert in place thereof the words "18 years of age and over." "' The privilege of the floor, was granted to Mr. Pope to speak on this motion. Then the motion was adopted.~ On motion, adjourne~ to meet Tuesday, May 2~th, atSP. M. Referred Nay 20th (With City ~,~naMer ) A petition of certain merchants enHig~h street, between Chestnut and PearI, to have a light installed and maintained~ in the ~ear of buildir~s occupied by the Metzer- Hamper Motor Corporatio~ and other fir~ms on said street.~ It is reco~ended t_hat said light be installed, Provided tD~t same is maintained with- out cost to the City.
