P~ogress as to sa~. that the City purchase an Elgin Street Sweeper at a cost Reconm~endation of the City Manager that the following rates of pay ~e granted to laborers on the streets: $G.28 for second-class labor and ~.~68 for first-class !a~or, provided the la- .borers c~u pass a p~sical examination under the ruIes and regulations to be established by the M~dical 'Department of the City; and provided-f~ther that no laborer is to be paid the above rates if his age exceeds 50 years, and in such cases Where the age limit applies and the pI~fsical ex~.ination is waived, a rate of pay not exceeding $3.00per day to be established.
