<br />n~me of E. V. Swearinger be taken from the roll, as he was granted a leave of absence for about
<br /> days'and n0thir~E had been heard from him.
<br /> On motion, the notice was ordered to be filed.

<br /> 6th. Submitting estimate for installation of six telephones in the Eighth and ~intH Wards,
<br />reco~nending that an appropriation of $145. be made to znsta!z' ? and maintain six two-party
<br />limited service telephones for the said Wards for the balance of the year~
<br /> On motion, the reco~endatiqn was referred to the Department of P~lie Safety.'

<br /> 6th. Reco~nendation of the City M~ager that the following resolution be adopted: "That
<br />the lease' for the east end. of Wythe, Harrison and Randolph streets, between First street and the
<br />Port Warden's line on the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River made by and between ~. R. T. K.
<br />Bain and the City of Portsmouth will not be renewed at the expiration of said lease, and the City
<br />of Portsmouth declares its intention of occupying these street ends at the termination of said
<br />le~se."
<br /> On motion, the recommendation was referred to the Special Committee on Docks.
