Weinberg, j. D. Ausley, J. Davis Reed, <br />W. J. Pate, W. N. Land, witnesses for the City Man,get the Council recessed until ~:30 o'clock <br /> <br />Upon reconvening at ~:30, the following Councilmen were present: <br /> <br />Messrs-- Vernon Brooks, R. B. W$ite, ?. <br /> Also the City Manager. <br /> <br /> Whereupon, Messrs. J. W. Roundtree, J. Dav2s Reed, and W. J. P~te testified for the <br />City Manager, and ~ohn Warren, Oscie Dashiell, T. A. Talbot, W. D. Milford, and J. Mo Broughton <br />testified for the defense, and G. H. Petti~ohn closed the evidence by testifying for the City <br /> <br />' After the summing up of the case by City Attorney George Busman for the City Manager <br />and attorneys H. J. Davis and R. H. B~gby for the defense, Mr. White moved that the Cbuncil <br />retire to discuss the evidence and formulate a report. The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brooks then offered the following resolution: <br /> <br /> ~TO CITY MANAGER, PORTSMOUTH, VA. <br /> <br /> "Wherems, ~Gr~aant ~o request dated January 11, 1921, from officers J.
