<br /> Re~ommendatio~ of the City Manager that $22,000. be allotted from the Bond Issue to 2500
<br />develop, ten acres of the new cemetery sitej f~om !
<br /> It is recommended th~t $2~500. ce appropriated for this purpose from the Cemetery B~nd~
<br />Fund, and that such part of this ~mount as may be needed be loaned from the Improvement Bond
<br />F~nd. ~\
<br /> Mr. Brooks submits the following minority report on ~bove: It is recommended that
<br />same be referred ba'sk to the City Manager.

<br /> Repor~ of the Jail Committee on proposed plans for the new jail for the City of Ports-
<br />mouth.
<br /> It is recommended that the City ~nager be empowered to visit and investigate prison
<br />farms.
<br />
<br /> A communication from the City Manager concerning an ~pinion from the City Attorney that
<br />str£ctly speaking, the City is not bound to pay any part of the operating expenses connected
<br />with the West No~folk Bridge over ~he Western Branch, but is bound to pay one-half of the cost
<br />of maintenance.
<br /> It is recommended that the City pay only what it is required to pmy by the Order of
<br />Annexation.
<br />
<br /> A communicmtio~ from the City Manager stating that the Civic League of the Eighth Wmrd
<br />has recommended to him an appropriation of $500. ~or the white playground and $100. for the
<br />colored playground in the Eighth Ward from Eighth Ward funds; the City M~nager recommending
<br />favorable action on the same.
<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation of $6~0. be made for said purposes,
<br />out of Eighth W~rd funds.

<br />Larmour's attorney requesting that judgment against the ~City in favor of ~r. Larmour for ~

<br /> It is recommended.that $633.~2 mcr ~r. Larmourls claim and $170.00 for interest, $g33.

<br /> Whereupon, Mr. Hall moved that the report be considered by sections. The motion was

<br />Esleeck moved that same be adopted, and it was adopted by the following vote:

<br /> With regard to recommendation that the City pay only what it is required to pay by the

<br />be adopted, and it was adopted by the following vote:

<br /> Concerning section recommending that $600. be appropriated for playgrounds
<br />Ward, same was adopted, on motion of Mr. Esleeck, by the following vote:

<br /> And in connection with playgrounds, Mr. Brooks moved that the City Manager be instruct-
