<br /> 2nd. Enclosing bills from the City Sergemnt for c~r~ of City prisoners for February and
<br />M~rch, 1921, to amounts of $111.62 and $150.02, r~spectively, including committal T~e
<br />for each prisoner~ whzch should be deducted from ~he total, leaving net balance of $22~.6g.
<br /> Also requesting a lump sum of $1,000. be appropriated for this purpose for the ~lance
<br /> of the year, as this is :a monthly charge. ,
<br /> On motion, the matter was referred to the Financ~ Committee.

<br /> 3rd. Presented draft of the general Traffic Ordinance; stating that the principal changes
<br />from the ekisting ordinance consist in prescribing certain signals, prhibiting diagonal cross-
<br />~ng of s~ree~s by pedestrians, prohibiti~ng e~osming of streets other tha~ a~ intersections by
<br />pedestrians, increasing rates of'Ta~e aha prescribing in~emnity bonds ana personal bonds for
<br />all public mhauffeurs.
<br /> On motion, the ordinance was placed on its first ~eading.
<br />
<br /> 4th. -Recommendation that the or~inanoe no~ on its first reading governing the organiza-
<br /> tion of the Police and Fire Departments be amended so as ~o increase the number of patrolmen

<br /> AN ORDINANCE TO ABOLISH THE OFFICE OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY.
<br />
<br /> On motion, the ordinance w~s amended by adding the following section: "All duties im-
<br />posed by any ordinance of the City upon the Director of Public Safety shall be performea by
<br />the City Manager or his duly authorized agent."
<br />
<br /> The Ordinance was mdcpted, as amended, and by the following vote:

<br />NUMBereR OF JITNEYS TOOPERATE ON EACH JITNEY ROUTE, AND FIXING A SCHEDULE THEREFOR.
<br />
<br /> On motion, the ordinance was amended, so that where the words "Director of Public Safety"
<br />moctuv the-words "City Manager" were substituted therefor.

<br /> Mr. Brooks moved that the ordinance be oontlnued on
