<br /> A communication was read from the Nommn's Democratic Organizmtion stating ~hat at a re-
<br />gular meeting of the said Organization held at the home qf Mrs. Woodson Ezell May 5th it was
<br />decided to msk the Council for representation on the School Board and that the name of Mrs.
<br />Cora Stanwood Da==l~n was put in nomination aadunanimously elected, in place of Mr. Harry~Outh-
<br />rielI, resigned. ~
<br /> On motion~ ~ion on ~he recommendation was deferred until the next regular meeting

<br /> A request was received from the School Board asking that the Council include in its Pav-
<br />ing Program the paving of the street in front of every school house where this does not already
<br />exist.
<br /> On motion, the request was referred to the special meeting to be held Thursday to con-
<br />sider the Paving Program.

<br /> The resignation of Geo. Bosman as City Attorney to take effect June 30th, 1921, was read;
<br />an~ a=~on on same was deferred until the next regular meeting of the Council.

<br /> A communication was re~d from certain residents of Prentis Park concerning the jitney
<br />route ~o Prentis Park, and ~ommmn~tions were read from representatives ~f' Navy Yard employees
<br />in regmrd to the new jitne~ regulations.
<br /> WhereupOn, on motion, the privilege of the floor was granted to signer of the petitions.
<br /> Mr. W. P. Ricks and other spoke in favor of the ~e2~itons.

<br /> Mr. Esleeok moved that the jitney interests be requested to appoint one or more repre-
<br />sentatives from each interest on each rou~e to meet with the City M~nager ,and m Commit-
<br />· ee of'Three from the Council to consider complaints of jitney operators in re-
<br />lation to Jitney ordinances. The motion was adopted, and the President mppointed
<br />the following special committee: J. H. Hall, Jr., J. C. Smith, J. Alden Cast.
