<br /> At a recent informal meeting at which were present the Chairman of the 'Fi-
<br />nance Committee, a representative of the Board of Supervisors of Norfolk~ the City Attorney
<br />and myself, the question of financing the road from the western end of High Street to the City
<br />pamk bridge wms discussed. The paving of the portion of High Street between H~am~lton and Rod-
<br />man Avenues seems to h~ve already been provided for oy Citizens o~Portsmouth and Norfolk
<br />Count~ who have ~g~eed to take the necessary County bon~s ~o cover this construction. T~e--re~
<br />main~er of the rogd along Rodman Avenue to King Street, King Street to bridge will cost ~bo~t
<br />$25,000.

<br />next ~meeting i~sue a-t~roclamation that 'Portsmouth Bay' will be celebrstea ~n Tuesday, Sept.
<br />6th.~ The issuing-O£ sueh~ a proclama~tio~n would of course ~e an executive s~ot on the psat of
<br />t~he~ayor, but I would suggest that ~h~ Council adopt a resolution thanking the Manager of
<br />the-~Fair ~A~$ocia~ion £or his invitation and notifying him that such of us as can be present
