Niemeyer to amount of $2,000.OO, on account of commissions.on land <br /> and personal property books, was referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> A petition of the Virginia Ne~$ Company, Inc., Norfolk, Va., to be refunded $21.00 li- <br /> cense ta~ paid on automobile truck, was referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> On motion, the City Clerk was authorized to sign the State delinquent max list for the <br /> City Treasurer. <br /> The following communication was referred to the City M~nager and City Attorney: <br /> "PortsmOuth, Va., October 24th, 1921. <br /> "Hon. City Council, <br /> Portsmouth, Virginia. <br /> <br /> "Gentlemen~ <br /> This Company is the owner of one hundred (100) acres of land on the Norfolk <br />& Western Rmilroa~, about emile from Yad~in, in the Deep Creek Magisterial' District, in <br />Norfolk C~unty, V~. The Oi~ty of Portsmouth is the owner of a strip of land lying between <br />this Company's land and the Yadkin Road, which said strip of land is the right of way for the <br />water works canal. <br /> ~ R <br /> This Company h~s secured from other owners of land along the milford <br />easement for a right of way for a road, and is desirous.of securing from the City o~ <br />mouth a like easement over its property. As soon as~this emsement can be sea, red from the <br />City it is the purpose of this Company to construct a forty (40) foot road out to the Yadkin <br />Road,~which will be o~ ~dvantage to all parties owning property abutting on the said road <br />as~ the smid road will be used by all the parties in common. <br /> <br />to your <br /> <br /> This Company therefore respectfully requests that you refer this matter <br />City Attorney for a r epor~ on the same. <br /> <br /> "Tours very truly, <br /> <br /> "BOULEVARB FARM & IMPROVEMENT CO~PANY <br /> By J. W. White, Sr., and sundry other citizens .aa~ proper~y owners <br />on County a~lnwiddie st:sets, adjacent to the~southwest intersection 0~ isazd streets, <br />against construction of a fire engine house mt said corner. <br /> On motion, the communtcation w~s referred zo the Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> An application was received from Victor J.
