<br /> Recommendation off the Manager that an appropriation of $500. be allowed to hear the City's
<br /> share of the expense of employing an expe~t before the State Legislatuxe in connection with
<br /> the tax segregation.
<br /> It is recommended that ~ special appropriation of $500. be allowed for same, provided
<br /> that other interested Cities appropriate their proportioramte sha~e.
<br /> Recommendation cf the Manager that a special appropriation of $150. be allowed for burial
<br />~of paupers for the rest of the Year.
<br /> It is recommended that a special mppropriation to said amount ~e allowed.
<br /> Reeommendmtion of the Manager that he be authorize~ tO purchase a tractor fo= use on earth
<br /> streets in the~old City and the Ninth Ward, $800. of the cost to be paid from our Bond-!~sue
<br /> and $~00. from the appropriation of overhead expenses of the Ninth Ward
<br /> Progress as to s~me.

<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that an additional appropriation of $1500. be allowed for
<br /> the Fire Depmztment ~or Repairs to Appsmatus.
<br /> It is recommended that same be referred back to the City Manager for detail statement.
<br /> Recommendation of the Nan~ger that an appropriation of $5000.00 be made from the Ninth
<br /> ~ard funds, for macadam road sixteen feet wide on Chestnut St., from Jefferson St. to the Old
<br /> Deep Creek Road; the filling of holes on the 01d Deep Creek Road, between ChestRut St, and a
<br /> certain lane; and for minor repairs on the Deep Creek Road.
<br /> It is recommended that said appropriation be allowed, out of Ninth Nard funds.
<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that a special appropriation of $109.51 be allowed ~o com-
<br /> pensate W. T. Eastwood for~ the destruction of a hat and damage to automobile cansed by a tree
<br /> projecting over the roadway on London street.
<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation of $109.51 be ~lowemd to compensate
<br /> Mr. Eastwood.
<br />~ Reports of the City Auditor, City Collector, and City Treasure~ for the month of Septem-
<br /> ber, 1921.
<br /> ~e have examined these reports and it is recommended the% they be filed.
<br />
<br /> A bill of Chas. E. Williams to amount of $29.25, for City ts.xea paid in error on
<br /> personal property @ 3Og, for years 1918-1919-1920.
<br /> It is recommended that said refund be made, out of appropriation in the Budget for
<br /> "Refunds."

<br /> Ordinances, and that a special appropriation of $600. be allowed for the work.

<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, for the Year 1921."
