<br />spirit of its citizens. Frtm comparatively a small town it has by the co-operation and energy

<br />Of the country. Its annual budget is about $38,000,000 and is raised on a tax rate of $2.9?
<br />per $100. In addition to th~s, abutting owners are required to pay for street paving an~
<br />sidewalks and to also maintain sidewalks. The period of payment for pavements extends over
<br />10 year s.

<br />lng a public comfort station on the Court House grounds and report as to same to the Council.

<br /> "Gentlemen:--
<br /> I am transmitting herewith bills from the Commission of Roads and Bridges
<br />for maintenance and operation of the Wes.t Norfolk Bridge.
<br />
<br /> · I~ is probable that we have sufficient funds on hand to pay for accrued
<br />maintenance amounting t~ $1~?.2~ and for the additional maintenance for the rest of the year,
<br />as an appropriation of $2,000.00 was made for this purpose.
<br />
<br />~ 'The accrued cost of operation to Sept. let is $2,0~8.87 and the cost 'for
<br />the~ remaining four months of the yemr will be $290.00, making a total of $2,388.87.
<br />
<br /> TO allow a smmll margin, it is recommended that an appropriation of $2~00.
