Esleeck, the City Attorney was instructed to draft deeds for said <br />lots and the Proper O~fioers were instructed to sign same. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Tl~e following ordinance, which h~d been plamed on its first reading by Council December <br />20th, was taken up, read, and adopted, o~ motion of Mr. Esleeck, seconded by Mr. Oast: <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING TH~ ISSUANCE OF TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS($250,000) <br />BONDS OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH,VIRgiNIA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING AND EQUIPPING PUBLIO <br />SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN SAID CITY; MAKING PROVISION' FOR FORM OF SAID BONDS AND FOR THE PAYMENT <br />THEREDF. (See Ordinance Book). <br /> <br /> And by the'following vote: <br /> .... Ayes-- Brooks, Esleeck, Hall, Hutchins, <br /> 0sst, ~mith, White, <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. H~ll, the privilege of the floor was granted to F.. Nash Bilisoly, <br />'State Commissioner of Game & Fisheries. Mr. Bilisoly suggested that the Council ~ende~ said <br />Department the new cemetery and park as a game sa~C~tuarY. <br /> Whereupon, cn motion of Mr. White, it was resolved that the Council tender the 8tats <br /> Department of Game & Fisheries the new cemetery and paTk as a game sanctuary. <br /> <br /> The Budget of Anticipated Receipts and Disbursements for th~ Year 1922, which had been <br /> pre~ented to the Council December 13th, was taken up and read. <br /> <br /> Mr. Esleeck moved that the privilege of the floor be granted to the Superintendent <br />of the School to speak for five minutes. The motion was adopted. <br /> Mr. Hunt spoke as to the school appropriation. <br /> <br /> Mr. White moved that the Budget be amended hy increasing the ~ppropriati0n for Sewer- <br />age D~partment, B-3, Water; by $1500.00, making the moral appropriation for said sub-division <br />$18~0.00~ ian~.b~ striking Out $1~53. allowed 6rider "Pensions," for Jnhn White, he having died <br />on mecemoer lst~. /~ ~ . · <br /> The am~dment was adopted by the following vote. <br /> Ayes-- Brooks, Esleeck, Hall, Hutchins, Oast, Smith, White, ?. <br /> <br /> Mr. Esleeck then mOVed that the Budget be adopted, as amended, but withdrew the motion. <br /> <br /> Then he moved that the Budget be adopte~ as ~mended, except the item wit~ regard to <br />Kings Daughters Hospital. The motion by Mr. Esleeck was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes-- Brocks, Eslecck, Hall, Hutchins, Oast, Smith, White, <br /> <br /> Mr. Esleeck moved that the item with reference to Kings Daughters Hospital be adopted, <br />and same was adopted by the followin~ vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
