<br /> Section 3. That the Virginim Railway & Power Company be, mhd it is hereby authorized
<br /> tO consolidate the two lines now operated by it in Park View and operate in Park View over
<br /> the following streets. Commencing at the intersection of High and Middle streets, thence
<br /> on Middle to London, thence ~n-London to Court, thence on Court ~o North streem, thence on
<br /> North street to Green street, thence .on Green street to Caledonia street, thence on Caledonia
<br /> street to Hatton street, thence on Hatton street to Naval avenue, thence on Naval Avenue to
<br /> ~azk Avenue, thence on'Park Avenue to Villa street, thence on Villa Street to Cooke 'street,
<br /> thence on Cook Street to Leckie, thence on Leckie to Webster avenue, thence on Webster avenue
<br /> to."B" street, thence on"B" street to Caledonia street, Caledonia to Green, thence on Green
<br /> stree~ to North street, thence on North street to Court, thence on Court ~o London, thence
<br /> on London to Middle, ~hence on Middle to High street, with necessary ~urves, turn outs, con-
<br /> nections, sidings, poles, wires, and appliances necessary or useful in the operation of the
<br /> street railway system, in order to-furnish efficient service.

<br /> The maid Co~pany shall make such new construction as necessary to put this ruuti~g into
<br /> effect mnd to route i~s cams in accordance with its provisions, within 90 days from the taking
<br /> ~ec~ of thiS ordinance, and may'within ~0 days from the taking effect of this ord~.nance,
<br /> d ompa~y may remove such poles mhd wires as were used exclusively for street tar!way pur-
<br />poses, on the streets on which operation is mbandoned, under this ordinance.

<br /> The said Comp~uy may. remove the rails as and When the City repaves the strsets on which
<br />opermtion is muthorized to be mbandoned by this ordinance, or sooner, if it so desires. In
<br />even~ the rail's are removed before the City~,oxepaves any of said s~eets, the Company shall rs-
<br />store t~e p~ving Onmth~ arrests or any portion thereof, to their former condition.

<br /> S~ction g. That the said Company shall, within 60 days from the date this ordinance takes
<br />effects, plmos in operation in the City of PortsmouZh 12 Birney Sa~fety Cars.

<br /> Section'5. MaidCompany upon the mb~ndonment of the CoUnty street line, shall operate
<br />through the down-town loop to Bixth Avenue and Glasgow street via High street the equlvklent

<br />this ordinance ~akes effect, ~Zant any franchise or license to any other firm, person or ocr-
<br />portion, or permit mny other zirm, person or corporation to operm~e any system of or separate
<br />vehicles for urban transportation in competition with the Virginia Railway & Power Company
<br />nemrmer tham ~wo blocks from any street on which the Virginia Railway & Powe~ Company operates
<br />its s~ree~ cars ~n the City of Portsmouth, unless and until the Virginia Railwmy & Power Com-
<br />pany b~S Previou~ly given it~ consent in writing, except this provision s~all not apply to
<br />Cook st=spt, ~r to Third street, Fourth sZreet, and Court Street South of High street, Pro-
<br />v~d_~d, .'h~Wty~=, tha~ this provision shall not apply to any line of said Company in the City
<br />ox ~or~smeu=~, until the said Company has plmoed, in operation the 12 Birney Safety Cmrs~men-
<br />tioned in Section ~, and has constructed the necessary tracks to consolidate the Park View
<br />Lines amd place cars in opermtion thereon.

<br />THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VA.:
<br /> (i) That service be restored immediately by re-instmting employees
<br />at former pmy pending final adjustment of wmges by mrbitration. The same adjustment to apply
<br />in Portsmouth ms shall apply in Norfolk.
<br />
<br /> (2) That~ we go immediately into re-rou~ing cars of whole system oh Portsmouth side of
<br />R~ver. Thmt the re-routing as ~greed upon be pul into effect as mbility ~o finance emch
<br />improvement or unit on part of the Company.

<br /> (~) That Jitney Service be re-routed in direct proportion ~o rs-routing of cars and
<br />improvement on e~isting lines.
<br />
<br /> (4) Tha~ a Oommit~ee of Three (3) be appointed to confer with the Virginia-Railway &
<br />Power Company in working out the details upon the above principles."

<br />Power lines in Portsmouth, such re-routing to become operative in units or sections according
<br />to the ability of the Va. Ry. & Power Co. to finance the same.
