080 <br /> <br />April 11, 1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, April <br />11, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, *James T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City <br />Manager, George M. Willson, Acting City Attorney. <br /> <br />95-167 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 95-168 - The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Cemeteries <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of <br />the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> ('1) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />pertaining to a legal matter involving the development of <br />property in the central portion of the city, as permitted under <br />Subsection (A) (7); <br /> <br /> (2) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />pertaining to a legal matter (Adelman, et al., vs City of <br />Portsmouth), as permitted under Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Pitts, and eeconded by Mr. Clemons, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters ae were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED -~ <br />Mayor <br /> <br />~eila Powell Pittman, CMC/AAE <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br />*Councilman Jamee T.
