REPORTS OF DEPARTMENT8 Finance-- Referred Msmch Report of the~Superintendent of the Water Department of cost of operation of said Depart- merit for month of J~uuary, 1922. We have examined thi~ report and it is recommended that same be filed. Recommendation of the Manager that a special appropriation of $525,35 be allowed ~o pay for pistols, oar~i~idgee, badges and whistles which he had to purchase in connection with the employment of substitute policemen rendered necessar~ by the strike of the Va, Ry. & Power We report that there ie an appropriation in the Budget to cover this amount. Recommendation of the M~mger that sm appropriation of$~ASO, be made to rent 01ea~ton's stables on Columbia street, between Court and Middle streets, at $30. per month, for h~using Grimes Battery. .It is recommended that a special appropriation of $180. be allowed for this purpose. Recommendation of the M~mager that an addttiona~l appropriation of $1500. be allowed for Fire Dep~rtment, E,4, maintenance and repairs. It is recommended that a special appropriation of $1500. be allowed for this purpose.
