t 30 <br /> <br />~May 9, 1995 <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to <br />award a construction contract in the amount of $29,275 to <br />Hayes, Seay, Mattern and Mattern to review and analyze the <br />indoor air quality of Churchland High Schools and was adopted <br />by the following vote= <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />95-239 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a motion to award a contract to Geo Design Consultants in the <br />amount of $15,000 for monitoring the cleaning and painting of <br />the steel superstructure on the two westbound lanes of the <br />Churchland Bridge. <br /> <br /> "On April 25, 1995 a construction contract was approved <br />and funds were appropriated for cleaning and painting of the <br />steel superstructure on the two westbound lanes of the <br />Churchland Bridge. This project involves sandblasting the <br />existing lead paint, containment of contaminated material and <br />applying three coats of paint to the bridge superstructure. <br /> <br /> Due to the stringent requirements of Federal and State <br />agencies regarding contaminated material, it is necessary to <br />have a specialized inspector to monitor all phases of this <br />work. Bids were received on April 26, 1995 for these <br />inspection services as follows: <br /> <br />(1) Geo Design Consultants, Inc. <br />(2) Law Companies <br />(3) Froehling and Robertson, Inc. <br /> <br />$15,000 <br />$16,536 <br />$26,325 <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works recommends awarding a <br />contract to the low bidder, Geo Design Consultants, in the <br />amount of $15,000. No additional appropriation is required for <br />this work. <br /> <br /> I concur with the Director of Public Works and recommend <br />the award of contract." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to award <br />a contract to Geo Design Consultants in the amount of $15,000 <br />for monitoring the cleaning and painting of the steel <br />superstructure on the two westbound lanes of the Churchland <br />Bridge, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />95-240 - Mr. Clemons offered the following nominations for <br />appointments to the following Boards and Commissions: <br /> <br />Co~ununit¥ Services Board <br /> <br />Sandi R. Johnson to be appointed for a three year term ending <br />June 30, 1998, replacing Doroty W. Swain. <br /> <br />Anthony J. Nicolo to be reappointed to a three year term ending <br />June 30, 1998. <br /> <br />Carl L. Burden to be reappointed to a three year term ending <br />June 30, 1998. <br /> <br />Roger K. Smith to be reappointed to a three year term ending <br />June 30, 1998. <br /> <br /> <br />
