<br /> Mr. White moved that the recommendation of the Manager ~ith regard to trucks be adopted;
<br />and that the ordinance be amended by adding the paragraph recommended.
<br /> The motion was adopted.
<br />
<br /> With regard to the recommendation concerning carnivals and bazaars, 2Lt. Nhite moved that
<br />~he first clause of paragraph two be adopted. The motion was adopted. -
<br />
<br /> N~. White then moved that the second clause of paragraph two be am~ndad to read as f61-
<br />lows and that the ordinance be amended by adding same: "The preceding psrmEr~ph shall not
<br />apply to any wheel o~ fortune or game of chance operated in accordance with State law by a local
<br />charitable, religious or benevolent organization, when such wheel or game is operated in a
<br />building, by a member of the organization or member of the family of one of the organization,
<br />where the profits accrue exclusively ~o the organization, provided no child under fifteen years
<br />of age be permitted to plmy such Wheel or game."
<br /> The motion was adopted, Mr. Hu~chins votlngNo.

<br /> Mr. White moved that the following section be struck out: "Water Companies: Each person,
<br />firm or corporation who shall engage in the business o~ supplying water through pipes or m~ins,
<br />one-half of one per cent from gross receipts of same."
<br /> The motion was adopted.
<br />
<br /> Then Mr. White moved that the following section be substituted for the section recommended
<br />the report of the Finance Committee:
<br />
<br /> "Each person, firm or ~orporation selling or offering for sale any bankrupt, assignee,
<br />t~ustee or fire stock, and who replenishes the original bankrupt, assignee, trustee or fire stock
<br />by additional goods brought into the City from other poi~s, $101JO0 per day. Such stocks
<br />shall not be sold by any auctioneer or common crier except upon the payment of the above tax.
<br />Any person, firm o~ corporation who shall violate the provisions of this parag~aphshall be
<br />fined not less than $250100, and each day's failure to obtain the license shall constitute a
<br />separate offense."
<br />
<br />The motion was adopted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Mr, Cast, the following section was inserted in the ordinance:

<br /> "Esch pers6n, firm or corporation selling ss~d, gravel, or broken stone, and not paying
<br />~nerchant's license, $101.00.~
<br />
<br />On motion of Mr. White, the ordinance was adopted, as amended, and by the following vote:

<br />Ayes-- Brooks~tchins, Oast, Smith, Stewart, White, 6.

<br />Then the following ordinance was taken from the t able and read:

<br /> Mr. BrOoks moved that th~ %itle of the ordinance be amended 'by substituting the word
<br />"Bank" for "Banks" and adding the word "stock"~fter "Bank."
<br />
<br /> The motion was adopted, and. then on motion of Mr. White the ordinance was adopted, as
<br />amended, ~nd by the following vote.
<br /> Ayes-- Brooks, Hutchins, Oas~, Smith, Stewart, White, 6'.
