<br /> 1. The taking line of the property is established on the existing l~inch submarine main
<br />at the middle of the East Bramch of the Elizabeth River, with the understanding that sealed
<br />gates are to be p~ovided at each end of this submarine main, and with the further understanding
<br />that should either City~ desire at any time in case of emergency to purchase water through this
<br />sub-ma~ine main from the other City, said other city shall immediately upon request, furnish
<br />the same in such quantity as may be requested, subject to its capacity so as to furnish said
<br />water without impa~ment to the service in the rest of the territory supplied by it; smid
<br />water to be paid for at the rate of ten cents per thousand gallons.
<br /> 2. In view of the fact that the City of Portsmouth does not at present own the 1651
<br />meters on their settings, which were installed by the Federal Government as per the terms of a
<br />contract between the Portsmouth, Berkley & Suffolk Water Co. mmd said Government, we fir~i that
<br />the sum of $25,000 of this award of $~05,000. shall be placed in escrow by the City of Norfolk
<br />to be paid to the City of Portsmouth for said 1651 meters and their settings whenever the City
<br />of Portsmouth shall transfer to the City of Norfolk a~u~e~oumbered title to the s~me.

<br />services, and in ascord~nce~r~rewith we suggest the sum of~$300 each, and further that~eaoh
<br />of you submit a bill in the sum of $150 to the City of Norfolk ~nd also a bill for like amount
